Born in Santa Monica, California, Mark Franco’s journey in the world of acupuncture and Chinese medicine began at the age of 15, when he started studying under the guidance of his uncle. This early exposure laid the foundation for a lifelong passion and dedication to healing through traditional practices.

Beginning in 1996 and for over a decade, he immersed himself in the study of Master Nagano’s Japanese acupuncture style, training directly under renowned teacher Kiiko Matsumoto. This deep connection to the tradition eventually led Mark to be entrusted with the honor of teaching the style to aspiring practitioners and students. Mark earned his Master of Science in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from Samra University in 1998.

Throughout his career, Mark has been an influential educator, teaching at major Chinese medicine colleges and universities. His expertise also extends into clinical research, having contributed to hospital acupuncture studies in areas such as cardiac care, post-stroke rehabilitation, and post-surgery recovery for total hip and knee replacements.

In addition to his teaching and research, Mark has dedicated himself to mentoring other acupuncture practitioners, guiding them in both acupuncture techniques and the use of Chinese herbal medicine. His commitment to the craft and the community continues to make a lasting impact on the field.
